Why Students Should Living On and Off Campus: Student life is different for each person. Some students thrive while living on the college campus and they immerse themselves into the college life experience. Others may want to live off campus and have space away from the college. Either way, there are different reasons for living on and off campus. It really is a matter of what type of lifestyle the student wants.
Living On and Off Campus:
Living on campus keeps the student closer to their classes and campus activities. Additionally, living on campus may be less expensive because room and board is sometimes included in tuition and they can save on gas by walking to classes. A downside is not having privacy, space in the dorm room, or having the option to cook.
Living off campus has its perks. It can give the student more freedom and privacy, not to mention more space. Off campus housing is sometimes cheaper than staying on campus, therefore they can save more money. With off campus housing, student can buy groceries and cook. That allows the student to put their money in other places. A downside, however, is that the student may have to furnish the space and that means they have to spend more money upfront.
Consider the pros and cons before deciding which living situation is best for the student. Depending on what the student needs and wants will help when deciding housing. Either way, college life is a wonderful experience and can be what the student makes it.
